Demetria & Jon

Hello!
We are Demetria and Jon, and we thank you for taking the time to get to know us.

We understand that your decision is out of love and courage, so we want to express, first and foremost, that your needs and values are important to us and will help shape how we raise your child. Upon learning of our infertility, we considered alternative options for growing a family. After some reflection, we decided to build our family through adoption. This decision came somewhat naturally to us, as Demetria’s mother had been adopted herself. We believe that this significant experience will provide us with some personal insight as we build an open and honest relationship with the child, as well as with the birth parent. Above all, we are committed to providing your child unconditional love in a safe, supportive, and stable home that values acceptance, faith, growth, education, openness, and fun.

We are a loving, successful, and happy couple who enjoy the simple things in life because they are often the most important. We enjoy spending time with friends and family, trying new restaurants and traveling together, and we have a shared interest in all things nerdy – superhero movies and shows, comics, cartoons, board games, etc. We also have two dogs and a cat, whom we love to spoil.

Demetria is a Social Worker who helps individuals through counseling, resource guidance, and outreach. She is very caring, patient, and empathetic, but spontaneous and fun as well. She always has a positive outlook on life. In her spare time, Demetria enjoys reading, antique shopping, anything Star Wars or Disney, and promoting social interests.

Jon has a career in Information Technology. He is thoughtful, reserved, and very goal-oriented. His interests include working out, reading, rooting for Chicago sports teams, and taking on projects around the house. Jon is of mixed heritage – Greek from his father’s side, Mexican from his mother’s side. This background has helped shape his openness toward all groups of people and diverse experiences, and through work, school, and vacationing, Jon has had the opportunity to visit over 15 countries around the world.

Our home is a nice, four-bedroom brick and stone home in a nationally-rated community. We have a large, well-kept yard, perfect for children and their friends to run around and play in. The neighborhood is safe, quiet, and many families with young children are located throughout the subdivision. Also, our neighborhood is down the street from the elementary and high schools in a top school district.

Thank you for taking the time to read our letter. We hope that by reading this you have a glimpse of just how much we want to share our lives with you and your child. We appreciate the brave decision that you are making, and with hope, would be grateful to build a relationship with you.

Sincerely,
Demetria and Jon
